Selina’s Spark: Finding Joy Through Every Challenge
At just 14 years old, Selina has faced a lifetime of medical challenges. She lives with cerebral palsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, scoliosis, and has endured surgeries including spinal fusion and hip reconstruction. Despite it all, Selina is full of spunk and spirit, lighting up every room with her smile.
When Kids1st connected with her mom, Cherie, we learned about her favorite things: Bluey, Paw Patrol, and bracelets. To celebrate Selina, we put together a special care package filled with bracelets, books, sticker sets, a big plush seal with its baby, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Each gift was chosen to bring joy and encouragement to her daily life.
Selina also loves race tracks, where she proudly wears her pit pass bracelets long after the event is over. Her story is a reminder that resilience is about more than facing difficulties—it’s about finding joy in life’s simplest moments.
